COURSE DATES:
Please check back often for our next Wine 101 Series dates.
This series of courses may include*:
Facts and Fundamentals
During our first session, you’ll learn about pairing wine with food, which stemware to use and why, how to order wine in a restaurant, and more fun basics. We’ll also cover tasting wine, serving temperatures, wine ratings and wine “lingo." Discover the different grape varieties and which wines they produce. We’ll explore the most popular Reds and Whites and why all of them are worth experiencing.
Old World Wines
Europe discovered making and enjoying great wine long before they discovered America. While the rest of the world is catching up, good studies of wine include the masters of France, Italy, Spain, Germany and Portugal.
New World Wines
To simplify, if it’s not Old World, it’s New World. We’ll journey to the lands of Australia, South Africa, Argentina, Chile and New Zealand to discover great and wonderful wines. Some of the best deals come from these newly tapped areas.
Surf the California Wine Wave
Since the ‘70s, California wines have been on the map. We’ll discuss wines produced in the United States that are bringing Americans into the world of wine appreciation. Not all roads lead to France!
